indeed (or: like the darkness between the fireflies)

Even more that I remember Birch saying: “I wouldn’t be surprised if something happened over break.” It’s funny that he’s giving me advice, but I suppose he is the one getting married =).

Because I woke up so incredibly early yesterday, I actually ended up going to church, which was fun because I saw Jennifer. Oh, and also Molly, who now holds the “girlfriend spot” in my wallet. But I’m sure that won’t last for too long.

I did some more present-wrapping afterwards (actually, I just told my mom what paper to use and she did it) and then talked to people on the phone for what seemed like hours.

And then I watched football, and later Fox’s Sunday lineup, and tried really hard not to fall asleep before ten. Jennifer showed up to pick up her Christmas present, and Katie Z. was with her. So that was fun. And then I went to sleep.

Oh, what the hell is a drumbird? I would like to know.

things i may have neglected to mention (or: well, that wish finally came true)

First off, I woke up this morning (at four o’clock) and discovered the single most fantastic voice mail since, well, probably the last voice mail Jessi left me at school. Anyway, it was Tony, who found out that QT has teriyaki chicken and provelone cheese sandwiches again! Go get one today!

For whomever of you shoepolished my car, you will die. That orange crap you used is on my paint and my Pearl Jam sticker, each of which is punishable by death on its own.

I just got off of the phone with lauren, whom I talked to for an hour and twelve seconds, according to my cell phone’s call timer. An hour and twelve seconds!!! That is my longest phone call ever, so of course it was long distance and on my cell phone. lauren, the next time I want to talk, you are calling me.

That’s about it…I’m sleepy and crabby and hungry and bored…and sad?

*yawns/stretches/wishes his back would pop…or was at least being rubbed right now*

That was a nice nap. By nap, I mean that I got in bed at four-thirty yesterday afternoon and woke up at seven-something this morning. I was going to take a short nap because my stomach felt funny and I was kinda tired, but that obviously didn’t work out.

Yesterday, Tony and I went to the ol’ high school to visit Mr. Birch. We didn’t get to stay for long at first, because he was actually doing something, so we ended up chasing a groundhog around my neighborhood and went back at the end of class. So we stayed and talked to Birch for about an hour and a half…good times. He’s getting married (yes, Birch is getting married, I’m just as shocked as you are) and had better invite me and Tony to the wedding next summer, because we do buy the best presents.

Earlier in the day, I talked to Jessi, who was happy to be back home (those Denver folk and their mountains…she said she cried when she saw them =) ). She also made sure to tell me that she only cut her hair an “ITTY BITTY BIT,” which made me laugh.

On Wednesday, I finished off my Christmas shopping at the mall, which has a sucky new Borders. At least they had what I was looking for. I also ran over to Creve Coeur Camera and dropped off film, and then picked it up a couple hours later. And then I stayed up pretty much the entire night and talked to Shahla.

And Tuesday, after I got back in town, I went over to Molly’s house and made eighty-one popcorn balls, which took all of five hours. And I only ate one of them.

PS lauren, I wrote this only because you told me to =).

sleepy tired (or: you can’t touch your nose with just two people – it’s not fair!)

Yeah, yeah, I know, I’ve been going crazy with the updates lately. But you like it! Don’t even try to lie your way out of that.

Also, I’m enforcing a new rule – if you read this journal lots, you must e-mail me (this means you, Kenmore, Washington…haha, i know, sneaky…). I’ve decided that e-mail folk can be the sweetest folk I know. Sure, this is induction from one case – not all birds are black – but let’s try to have one shred of hope, okay?

So, I was talking to lauren earlier and decided to move my keyboard to my bed so I could lay down and type. Bad idea. Well, no, not at all, actually – it’s not like I slept through my flight home…so i guess it was a lucky idea. Lucky, lucky me. Lucky!

Okay, enough of that, because for a little while last night, I was unlucky. You see, I stepped out of my room for exactly three seconds (okay, okay maybe it was thirty or so) to tell Erich that I wanted cheese on my pizza. And of course, Jessi picked those thirty seconds during which to call me. So I listened to her message (which was basically: ‘Hey, I’m outside…thought I’d say goodbye…I’m going to sleep now…have a great break!’ only in a lot more words) and I was upset, ’cause I definitely wanted to say goodbye. I didn’t really want to chase after her, because she said she was tired. Instead, I went outside and sat on a bench to think (did I mention that it was raining? that helped me to think). I ended up sending her an instant message telling her to call me early tomorrow when she wakes up, so I could run up there and say goodbye…but then she got back and said “come now!” so I went then.

After she put the final touches on her packing, we sat on the bed and talked for awhile. Eventually she had to kick me out so she could sleep, but she rememebered that we have no pictures of each other, so she made me be decisive about whether or not we should take one (you see, she thought she looked like shit from running errands all day (she didn’t), so now I have to explain that to anyone who I show the picture to). Hopefully my camera was focused…I was having such a hard time find a place to put it so I could use the autotimer…

Alright, I’ve got lots of things to do between now and whenever I catch a cab to the airport, so I’m gonna stop writing. I don’t know if I’ll update this over break…haven’t decided yet…but in case I don’t, have fun!
