Hey.

I would like to (and probably should) write but I am so so so busy and cannot find the time. I will try later, I promise — I may have a thing or two to say if I don’t forget.

Goodnight.

a pleasant surprise is in store for you (or: ‘cuz feeling is pain)

Here is the deal.

Jennifer e-mailed me last week and it was (and still is) the highlight of the month of July. Tuesday we talked for the first time since December (it’s that whole high school friends drifting apart thing) and it was terrific. We managed to catch up on some important things (such as her breaking an engagement – scandal, scandal) and it’s good to know she still wants to keep in touch.

So that is great.

My birthday was Wednesday. Most people forgot, but I don’t put much stock in a lot of them to begin with.

Some people did not forget, though, and I was surprised a couple of times. I did not expect two cakes, nor one of the phone calls, nor a bunch of presents.

Of course, I also did not expect to be upset for such a large portion of the day, but I was. After spending my first 19 birthdays at home, it was depressing to have to sit in my bedroom on the third floor and open my presents alone. I just wanted to have people around.

But people around is something I’ve been lacking.
