Wednesday, March 7th, 2007Recently I discovered a Web site on which you have 10 minutes to name as many U.N. member states as you can think of. There are 192 of them. Having exactly 10 minutes to spare, I gave it a whirl.

There were some silly ones I forgot (Thailand, Nigeria), and some omissions were attributable to spelling (Kyrgyzstan) or use of the word “the” (The Bahamas), but otherwise I had most of them save the West African nations and some countries that have hardly had enough time to exist (I’m looking at you, Kiribati).
So, all in all, it was a good showing. But here is the funny part: You can use the game to make a political joke! Look:
